What we do
We develop projects, advise, and teach around four main topics: Product Development, Circularity, Materials, and Design Tools.
A blend of those subjects provides a direction and a unique path to consult or to design. Depending on your specific need we build a particular portfolio of knowledge to help you or your organization in a transition towards a better, prosperous, meaningful, and sustainable future.
Origins of the word DINOMA
DINOMA is an acrostic word1 without any specific meaning that can be pronounced in different languages in the same way. Only gains meaning when blends three of the four pathways of the pyramid showed above. When the word DINOMA enters in contact with Product Development, Design Tools and Materials for Design gains a particular significance, and all the various elements that can be derived from it share the same ideals and philosophy connected with.
The same happens when DINOMA enters in contact with Product Development, Circularity and Materiality. It acquires another meaning and all the different initiatives that derive from this branch follow a particular philosophy and share a similar path. Even when the word enters in contact with Tools, Materiality and Circularity, acquires a specific meaning and invites to preserve and dialogue with nature. Feel free to explore the different projects that comprise the DINOMA space.
Before the advents of science, as we know it today, the mass of knowledge that our societies have gathered was enclosed into was known as the liberal arts. Trivium and Quadrivium in the ancient world comprised the different schools of thought2. This theory has been abandoned, making science and art evolving as separate entities. However, today is more relevant than ever that science and art cannot and should not develop as different tracks. Technological advancements should grow parallel with emotional and cultural developments of the society. When we analyze the impacts of believing in only one truth and following only one way of doing things, it is observable how the wicked problems of our modernity are becoming more challenging and difficult to tackle. It is also visible today that one answer cannot fit all. There is a possibility to combine once again science and art. by doing so; it could be possible to bring new alternatives for our current state of evolution. The renaissance and empowerment of the applied arts and crafts, which in our specific case refers to the design field, is no longer grounded exclusively in the humanities, but it is blending with pure sciences. The past century, was a scenario where the mix of different areas of knowledge was unachievable, primarily as each one of the fields of expertise was looking in a particular direction. Today this is no longer valid and is evolving to propose a new world where all can cooperate and co-create together, maintaining equilibrium, prosperity, and wellness, as our natural ecosystems are doing it for millions of years.

1- Acrostics have their origins in the ancient Babilonia3. In the Greco-roman world, acrostics were widely used for sacred means. The roots of the word come from the greek ἀκρο- which means extremity and στίχοϛ which stand for line or verse. Krumbacher, K. (1904). DINOMA is a place for ideas, we have a different vision around what is the current state of society. The way people live and work, the way we live on our planet and the relationship with natural systems needs to be reviewed. We are only a generation that should provide the tools for other generations to do better.
